Unai Emery Provides Update on Jhon Duran's Future
Emery Believes Duran Can Move Past Summer Antics
Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has expressed optimism that striker Jhon Duran can put the mistakes of the summer behind him and become a valuable asset for the club.
Duran, who joined Villa from Chicago Fire in January 2023, has been involved in a number of off-field incidents since his arrival in England.
Emery: Duran Ready to Move Forward
Emery told reporters that he believes Duran is ready to turn a corner and focus on his football.
"I have spoken to Jhon and I believe he understands the importance of putting these mistakes behind him," Emery said.
"He is a young player who has made some mistakes, but I am confident that he can learn from them and become a valuable member of this squad."
Emery to Make Final Decision on Duran's Future
Emery also revealed that he will have the final say on Duran's future at the club.
"It is important that we make a decision that is in the best interests of the club and the player," Emery said.
"I will take into account all of the factors involved, including Jhon's performances on the pitch and his behavior off the pitch, before making a decision."
Emery Insists He Is Happy with Duran
Despite the off-field issues, Emery insisted that he is happy with Duran's attitude and potential.
"Jhon is a talented player with a lot of potential," Emery said.
"I believe that he can be a success at this club if he continues to work hard and focus on his football."
"I am committed to helping him fulfil his potential and become a valuable member of this squad."
