Northern Lights Netherlands Sky

Northern Lights visible in the Netherlands again

The Northern Lights were visible over much of the Netherlands on Friday night and could again be visible on Saturday, meteorologists say.

People in Britain also marveled at the unusual sight.

The Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis, are a natural light display in the sky, caused by the interaction of charged particles from the sun with the Earth's magnetic field. The lights are most commonly seen at high latitudes, but can occasionally be seen at lower latitudes during periods of increased solar activity. The current solar storm is expected to continue for several days, so there is a good chance that the Northern Lights will be visible in the Netherlands again on Saturday night.

If you are hoping to see the Northern Lights, be sure to find a location with clear skies and as little light pollution as possible. The best time to see the lights is typically late at night or early in the morning.
