Arsenal have appointed Inaki Cana Pavon as their new goalkeeping coach. Pavon joins the Gunners from Brentford, where he has been working as a goalkeeping coach since 2019.

The Spaniard is a highly-rated coach and has a wealth of experience working with top goalkeepers. He has previously worked with the likes of Thibaut Courtois, Petr Cech, and David de Gea.

Pavon's appointment is a coup for Arsenal, who have been looking to strengthen their goalkeeping department. The Gunners have been without a permanent goalkeeping coach since the departure of Gerry Peyton in 2020.

Pavon will work alongside Mikel Arteta and the rest of the Arsenal coaching staff. He will be tasked with helping to develop the club's goalkeepers, including Aaron Ramsdale, Bernd Leno, and Arthur Okonkwo.

Pavon's appointment is a sign of Arsenal's ambition to challenge for major trophies. The Gunners have not won a major trophy since 2017, but they will be hoping to end that drought this season.
